Formula 9 the Largest Karting Challenge Day 1

Department of Mechanical Engineering, SNS College of Engineering in collaboration with Sumathi Motor Sports is hosting Formula 9, Largest Karting Challenge from 24th to 26th January, 2019. A tally of 36 teams registered for the event from all over India, among which 8 teams were shortlisted for the Karting challenge. Day one of the Karting challenge consisted of Technical Inspection, Innovation and Design Evaluation.

The Day two of the Formula 9, the Largest Karting Challenge hosted by Department of Mechanical Engineering, SNS College of Engineering in collaboration with Sumathi Motor Sports, underwent with Technical Inspection of the Karts by the officials. Subsequently Acceleration and Brake Tests were carried out which corroborated the Fortitude of the Machines. The dexterity of the motorists was determined with Manoeuvrability test and Drag test in of the toughest courses. The day concluded with assessment for Dronacharya award which is to be presented at tomorrow’s valedictory function.

The Day 3 saw the participants enthusiastically participating in the final event Endurance to achieve the success. Battle of Wheels witnessed a tough competition among the teams to win the championship.
The awards were given on the following categories

1. Best Design and Aesthetic Award – Trophy and cash prize of Rs 2000
2. Best Business Plan Presentation – Trophy and cash prize of Rs 2000
3. Best Innovation Award – Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 5000
4. Glory of Vehicle – Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 5000
5. Guru Dhronacharya Award for the Best Faculty Coordinator – Trophy
6. Best Maneuverability Award – Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 5000
7. Skilled Rider Award – Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 5000
8. Overall Championship – Runner – Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 25000
9. Overall Championship – Winner – Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 50000

The juries for various events were from industries. The chief guest and guests of honour were

Sri Krishna College of Engineering won the overall championship trophy and a cash prize of R. 50000/-
