FDP on Active Learning Strategies

The SNS Social Responsibility Initiatives organized a Faculty Development Programme in association with Centre for Teaching and Learning for the Teachers of Brilliant Matriculation and Higher Secondary School on 21-02-18 at 2.00 p.m. 30 teachers actively participated in the programme.

Prof. Samson, Principal of Brilliant Matriculation and Higher Secondary School welcomed the members of SNS and gave an overview of the programme. Dr. C. Kalaiarasan Lead Coordinator welcomed explained about the various events organized by SNS SRI for the benefit of the society.

The FDP focused on Active Learning Strategies such as flipping the classes, role play, case study, group discussion, small group learning, problem based learning, project based learning, Z-A approach and Mnemonics was explained with relevant demonstration.

The teachers were able to develop multiple strategies to teach the same topic, and thereby augment the understandability and concentration among the students in the subject. The FDP also had a session on “How to effectively use ICT” in Pedagogy to grab the attention of the students throughout the session.
